We've just completed a major overhaul of our tandem. The drive train was up for replacement so we went the whole hog. First thing we changed out our rear wheel, dérailleur gears and chain rings for a new back wheel with a 14-speed Rohloff Speedhub and resulting cleaner drive train. At the front end we've replaced our fixed fork for a Wotan suspension fork and 8.5inch Magura Gustav disc. The speedhub changes very nicely and gives a slightly wider gear range than our old 8-speed set-up. The front is giving us a smoother ride and amazing stopping power. We're off in a couple of weeks for a quick South Island tour and will update how it performs after that!
